Kelly Tucker, EA

Kelly was born and raised in Effingham IL. He attended Effingham High School and is a 1970 graduate of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. After graduating, he became a teacher, but shortly thereafter joined his mother’s growing accounting business. He has been an accountant and tax preparer for over 40 years.

Kelly had successfully completed the Enrolled Agent (EA) program and holds a record of completion for the Annual Filing Season Program. Kelly was well-versed at all types of business accounting and was an expert at individual tax preparation.

Kelly is deeply missed at Tucker Accounting. His kindness, sense of humor, and love of golf left a lasting mark on all of us—there isn’t a fairway or a conversation that doesn’t bring him to mind.

Josh Tucker, AFSP, RTRP

Josh Tucker was born and raised in Effingham, Illinois, where he developed strong roots in the local community and a deep appreciation for family-owned businesses. After successfully managing the family-owned bookstore, Josh chose to continue his family's tradition of serving clients by joining Tucker Accounting Services. As a third-generation owner, he has dedicated the past 25 years to helping individuals, families, farmers, and business owners achieve their financial goals.

Throughout his career, Josh has built a reputation for providing personalized service, practical financial guidance, and trusted tax expertise. His extensive experience allows him to understand the unique challenges faced by both small businesses and agricultural operations, making him a valuable resource for clients across a wide range of industries.

Josh successfully completed the Internal Revenue Service's Registered Tax Return Preparer (RTRP) Program and holds a Record of Completion for the IRS Annual Filing Season Program. He specializes in individual tax preparation, small business accounting, and tax planning. In addition, Josh has developed a strong specialty in agricultural accounting and tax services, assisting farmers with tax strategies, farm business management, succession planning, and navigating the unique financial complexities of modern farming operations.

As a lifelong resident of the area, Josh takes pride in building long-term relationships with clients and helping them make informed financial decisions that support their continued success for generations to come.

Jacob Tucker, AFSP

Jacob Tucker was born and raised in Effingham, Illinois. After graduating from the University of Illinois, he embarked on a successful career in the automotive industry, spending 22 years with a large new and pre-owned automobile dealership in Champaign, Illinois. During his tenure, Jacob rose to the position of General Manager, a role he held for the majority of his career. He oversaw five vehicle franchises and managed a team of more than 80 employees, gaining extensive experience in leadership, financial management, operations, and customer relations.

As a third-generation owner of Tucker Accounting Services, Jacob proudly continues his family’s legacy of serving individuals and businesses throughout the region. In November 2025, he joined the firm as a partner alongside his brother, Josh Tucker, bringing with him decades of executive leadership and business management expertise.

Jacob has successfully completed the IRS Annual Filing Season Program and remains committed to staying current with tax law and industry best practices. He specializes in individual tax preparation, small business accounting, and financial management services. His unique background as both a business executive and accounting professional allows him to provide clients with practical insights and strategic guidance that help them navigate financial challenges and achieve long-term success.

Darrell Hoffman, AFSP, RTRP

Darrell Tucker was born and raised in Island Lake, Illinois. After earning his degree from Eastern Illinois University in 1982, he married Julie Tucker, Kelly's sister, in 1984, becoming part of a family with a long tradition of serving clients through accounting and tax services.

Shortly after joining the family business, Darrell began what has become a distinguished 40-year career in public accounting. Throughout the decades, he has helped countless individuals and businesses navigate financial challenges, plan for growth, and achieve long-term success. His extensive knowledge, practical approach, and commitment to client service have made him a trusted advisor to generations of families and business owners.

Darrell specializes in accounting and financial services for small, mid-sized, and large businesses across a variety of industries. His expertise includes financial reporting, business consulting, tax planning, and tax preparation for individuals, partnerships, corporations, LLCs, and other business entities. Known for his attention to detail and comprehensive understanding of tax regulations, Darrell works closely with clients to develop strategies that minimize tax liabilities while supporting their overall financial objectives.
